We deserve Transparency!

We deserve Transparency!
South Shore - Uno

Many of us have been noticing an unsettling pattern in our neighborhood — city projects and utility work moving forward with little to no communication, and homeowners left with the damage, the bills, and more questions than answers.

Work Without Warning
Whether it's sidewalk construction, tree removal, or water line repairs, these projects often arrive without notice — leaving behind damaged yards, broken curbs, or even vehicle damage from falling limbs and debris caused by city-owned trees or equipment. Are they planning to come back and fix these issues? Who’s responsible when they don’t?

Where’s the Transparency?
As residents, we’re seeing rising city taxes, increased water bills, and yet many of the basic, visible needs in our neighborhood are going unaddressed. From potholes to poor drainage to unsafe sidewalks, the disconnect between what we pay and what we receive is growing.

Your Concerns Matter
We’re asking the questions many are thinking:

  • Why aren’t residents informed ahead of time about city work on or near their property?
  • Who is held accountable when city crews damage private property?
  • Why are costs going up, while basic services and repairs are overlooked?
  • Does the city consider these concerns legitimate? If so, where is the response?

This is a call for accountability, transparency, and open communication. As a community, we deserve to be informed, respected, and protected — not just billed.

We encourage all residents to share their stories, photos, and concerns. Let’s bring our voices together and make them heard where it matters most. If you've been affected by unannounced city work, rising costs without clear benefit, or damage with no follow-up — we want to hear from you.

Date: 11/4 6pm-9:30pm | Location: 9235 N Capitol Dr.

Together, we can advocate for real change — and ensure our city works with us, not around us.

In unity,

Uno
